IML Toolkit:
| Test and measurement engineers often want to write Windows applications for their specific tasks. The IML Toolkit speeds up the process, providing:
DLLs to Access the Test and Measurement HardwareThe DLLs extend the capabilities of the programming language you are using, by linking to routines accessing the test and measurement hardware. The routines let you configure the hardware, take a reading from an input channel, write a value to an output channel and collect data at high speed from all the enabled input channels. Share Data with Other Windows ProgramsThe Windmill DDE Panel lets you automatically pass current data to any other Windows program supporting dynamic data exchange. It also lets you use the other program to control output channels. It's very easy to use, just select some channels and copy them to the clipboard as DDE links. Open the other application (a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet for example) and paste the links. Every time a value changes it will be updated in the spreadsheet, and if you change an output value in the spreadsheet it will be sent to the output channel via the DDE Panel. Fully Featured Windmill ApplicationsThe other Windmill applications let you create and save hardware set-up files (SetupIML) and control outputs (AnalogOut and DigitalOut). SetupIML interrogates the hardware and builds a default configuration, ready for quick editing from dialogue boxes. You can choose ranges, units, channel names, transducer types, alarm thresholds and so on. Only settings valid to the connected hardware are shown, so you can't go wrong. Is My Hardware Supported?A vast range of hardware is supported, including equipment interfaced over Ethernet, Fieldbus, GPIB, ISA bus, USB, Modbus, RS232 and RS485. There are drivers for hundreds of instruments from many manufacturers, including llen-Bradley, Apex Engineers, Arcom, BDH, Biodata, Blue Chip Technology, Bruël & Kjær, Control Techniques, Crouzet, Data Translation, Datel, Eurotherm, Mettler, Sartorius, Siemens and West Instruments. A generic serial driver means almost any laboratory instrument with an RS232 port can be linked to the system. CostThe IML Toolkit costs £195 (UK pounds).
