New TCP/IP Data Logging Software

Windmill Software are pleased to release a new version of our data logging software. We have added TCP/IP capabilities, which means that you will be able to log data over Ethernet or Internet, as well as RS232, RS422, RS485 and Modbus. The new version works with Windows 7 64-bit and earlier versions of Windows.

Try before you Buy

A free trial of the Windmill software is available to our Monitor newsletter subscribers. Included in the download is the ComDebug setup program, which is completely free and never expires. This lets you log data from many channels on one instrument.

When the trial has finished you can upgrade the software to the licenced version for just £50, 80 USD or 60 Euro!

• Data logging from up to 10 instruments communicating over TCP/IP (eg Internet and Ethernet), RS232, RS422, RS485 and Modbus

The Windmill software suite includes ready-to-run logging, charting and control software applications. You have many data logging options open to you.

• Log only when new data is available from a device
• Log to a new data file at regular intervals
• Log data only when channels are in an alarm state
• Log data for a pre-set duration
• Use Excel to control data logging
• Log from many different types of instrument at once, for example those communicating over Ethernet, RS232 and Modbus

What sort of Devices can you Read with Windmill and ComDebug?

With Windmill you can control both those devices that continuously output messages, and those that require commands before supplying data. With a flexible approach to building command strings, and parsing the received data strings to extract data values, the majority of analytical instruments are supported. You have the freedom to mix and match equipment from many different manufacturers in many combinations. Many channels of data can be accepted from each instrument.

Instruments that have been interfaced with Windmill include balances, GPS receivers, data loggers, PIC microcontrollers, digital indicators, multimeters, plcs, power analysers, oxygen electrodes, solar panel array controllers, particle analysers, pH meters and fluorometers.

The Terminal screen lets you send commands and data to the instrument,
and view the reply. For those instruments that require it,
you can send an acknowledgement when the reply is received. .
